Business Development Operations Specialist

The BD Operations Specialist is responsible for driving operational excellence, process governance, sales order management, dispatch coordination, reporting, and business planning support across the Business Development function. The role acts as the central coordination hub between Key Account Management Team, Asset Planning, Operations, Supply Chain, Planning, Logistics and Accounts Receivables (Finance) to ensure seamless execution of customer commitments and business objectives. The incumbent will own the governance and monitoring of the order-to-dispatch process, business review mechanisms, customer visit coordination, circuit planning, sales forecasting support, and business development operational metrics while enabling KAM Team to focus on customer engagement and business growth activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Monitor end-to-end Purchase Order (PO) management across all customer accounts. Ensure timely conversion of customer POs into Sales Orders and monitor order lifecycle status
• Track pending orders, blocked orders, overdue orders, and escalation requirements. Ensure compliance with order processing timelines and internal governance requirements.
• Coordinate with Manufacturing, Planning, Commercial, Warehouse, and Logistics teams to ensure timely product dispatches.
• Monitor customer dispatch schedules against committed delivery timelines. Track dispatch readiness, inventory availability, documentation status, and transportation arrangements
• Maintain governance around sales order creation, amendments, closures, and order reconciliations (Custodian of KAM). Ensure data accuracy within SAP/ERP systems and related commercial databases

• Develop and publish periodic dashboards covering: Sales Orders, Dispatch Performance, Open Order Status, Customer Service Levels, Forecast vs Actual Performance, Business Development KPIs, Customer Visit Tracking, Action Item Closure Status.
• Maintain centralized BD databases and reporting systems. Generate monthly, quarterly, and annual business performance reports.
• Promote process discipline and governance within the Business Development Function. Drive accountability on business review actions and customer commitment tracking.
• Develop and maintain business development operational dashboards and management review mechanisms.
• Track key business metrics including order intake, dispatch performance, backlog status, forecast accuracy, and service levels.

Educational Qualification

• B.E./B.Tech (Chemical, Industrial, Mechanical or related discipline)
• MBA preferred

Previous Experience

• 3-5 years of experience in Sales Operations; Customer Service; Supply Chain Coordination; Business Operations; Order Management; Commercial Excellence
