Job Description
- The position of Research Scientist in Process Innovation at PI R&D Udaipur involves reporting to the Sr. Team Leader of Process Innovation and conducting research activities to design and perform scientific experiments. The key responsibility of the role is to analyze and interpret results that contribute significant value to the business of PI through Process Innovation.
Strategic Responsibilities:
The role requires actively embracing the values and philosophy of PI Industries and making efficient contributions to the success of CreAgro Chemistry. This includes driving innovation and team performance in alignment with objectives set by the Director and Head of Chemistry. The Research Scientist must fulfill requirements within specific Research Projects as directed by the Group Leader and Team Leader, ensuring the security of intellectual property for CreAgro. Keeping updated with chemistry knowledge through literature scanning is essential to foster innovation and support the Team Leader with a focus on target setting and seeking feedback.
Operational Responsibilities:
Collaborating with the Team to meet and exceed targets within the framework provided by the Group Leader and Team Leader is crucial. Continuous learning about the state of the art in synthetic chemistry development and techniques is required, with a specific focus on innovative process research. The Research Scientist must document and report all research results as per defined SOP/guidelines, actively seek functional support from the Team Leader, and engage in literature search and synthetic experiments safely and efficiently. Regular updates to the Team Leader on project progress/issues and active participation in technical and functional meetings are expected.

Supporting Team members by providing peer feedback and fostering a culture of knowledge sharing within the Team are integral aspects of the role.
Additional Accountabilities:
Maintaining healthy working relationships with related teams and departments in Process Innovation and taking responsibility for individual safety.
Education Qualification:
The ideal candidate should hold an MSc/PhD in Organic Chemistry from a reputed University/Institute in India or overseas with outstanding academic credentials.

A good experimentalist with 2-7 years of industry experience, preferably from Contract Research Organization (CRO) & Contract Research and Manufacturing Services (CRAMS), and experience in process research is desirable.

Functional Competencies:
The required competencies include knowledge of Organic Chemistry, proficiency in using search engines like Scifinder/Reaxys, lab experience, ability to interpret analytical data such as NMR, good experimentation skills, and proficiency in MS Office.
Interaction Complexity and Team Work:
Internally, the Research Scientist will collaborate with other Chemistry/Analytical Chemistry Team members, Process R&D chemists and engineers, SCM Team, and other support functions. Externally, interactions may include Chemical Logistics and Service Engineers.,
