You’ll focus on managing the design and implementation of technology infrastructure within PwC, developing and enhancing both client and internal facing applications within PwC, and providing technology tools that help create a competitive advantage for the Firm to drive strategic business growth.Our Applications Programming - Practice Support team helps translate PwC’s business requirements through efficient and effective Information Technology software applications. We design, develop, test, and implement sophisticated software applications in support of the firms needs and requirements.

Activities to be performed:
Responsible for day-to-day activities regarding the upkeep and availability of all database servers in the environment including lower environments
Serve as SME (subject matter expert) for Microsoft SQL Server, Oracle and other database technologies
Responsible for database backup and restore functions including scheduled tests of DR availability
Knowledge of DR and high availability of SQL server
MS SQL performance tuning for poor performing queries
Design the ERD for newly developed applications
Participates in SQL code-reviews for the application teams to enforce SQL coding standards
Builds reports on SQL environment performance and availability metrics and takes appropriate actions to implement best practices and optimize performance
Assist in the technical analysis and design for current and future projects
Participate in MS SQL migration to Azure project
Strong and demonstrable experience as DBA in MS SQL and Oracle for 5+ years
Experience with Azure SQL and MS Azure managed instance databases
Hands-on expertise managing instances of MS SQL setups featuring high availability
Strong problem-solving skills, with the ability to get to the route of an issue quickly
Develop and establish policies and procedures related to data security and integrity
Monitor and limit database with minimum access policy
Ensure all database servers are managed to Recovery Point Objectives (RPO) and Recovery Time Objectives (RTO)
Document the company’s database environment
Experience with Linux systems
Experience with CI/CD in cloud environments
Good communication and coordination skills and able to work efficiently under pressure
Nice-to-have :
