Job Description
- You are seeking a Senior Mainframe Developer to take charge of and provide assistance for multiple applications/projects. The perfect candidate will possess strong analytical abilities, technical proficiency in Mainframe technologies, and the capability to cooperate with both business and IT teams to deliver effective IT solutions. Your role will encompass system maintenance, job monitoring, incident resolution, and project execution while maintaining adherence to Agile methodology and a Product-Driven approach.
As a Senior Mainframe Developer, you will be responsible for leading and supporting various applications/projects. You will offer technical leadership and guidance to the team, handle system maintenance, troubleshooting, and support tasks, and collaborate closely with business stakeholders to comprehend functional and system requirements, ensuring the delivery of IT solutions. Additionally, you will manage job monitoring, job abends, incident resolution, and problem tickets for the designated applications, as well as provide estimations for projects of all sizes, with a specific focus on larger projects.
Furthermore, you will be expected to support the development and implementation of project plans across various categories, operate within Agile methodology, and adhere to a Product-Driven model. Effective communication with business stakeholders and IT teams, both verbally and in writing, is crucial. You will also be responsible for supplying operational metrics to management and proposing enhancements to boost efficiency.
The essential skills required for this role include expertise in Mainframe Technologies such as COBOL, JCL, DB2, IMS DC, IMS DB, VSAM, and CLIST, along with strong analytical and problem-solving abilities. Excellent communication skills and stakeholder management capabilities are also necessary, as well as experience in Agile methodology and product-driven development.
Experience in the following areas is preferred:
- COBOL: 8 years
- DB2: 8 years
- JCL: 8 years
