Job Description
- As a Software Engineer IV at Rackspace, you will have the exciting opportunity to design and create a database from scratch. This role goes beyond maintaining existing systems and gives you the chance to build something new and innovative. Your work location will be in India with the flexibility to work remotely.
Your key responsibilities will include supporting high-complexity customers and internal teams as needed, collaborating with other teams to develop tools for system automation, and ensuring that Rackspace infrastructure and customer applications are seamlessly integrated.
To qualify for this role, you should have at least 6 years of software engineering experience working on mission-critical enterprise systems. Additionally, you should have extensive experience with Linux systems, particularly Ubuntu, SUSE, and CentOS, and be proficient in Python for automating infrastructure workflows. Experience with configuration management tools like Ansible or Salt, as well as working in hybrid cloud environments, is also required.
Ideally, you should have familiarity with AWS cloud environments, Infrastructure-As-Code practices, and monitoring technologies such as Sensu, Nagios, and Grafana. Knowledge of Kubernetes, container lifecycle management, and high-availability approaches like load balancing and failover is preferred.
