Head Business Finance

The Head Business Finance will act as a strategic finance partner to the Retail leadership team, driving profitability, cost efficiency, and sustainable growth. The role will provide financial stewardship across P&L management, budgeting, forecasting, performance analysis, and decision support for retail operations.

Key Responsibilities

1. Strategic Business Partnering

• Partner with Retail Business Heads to drive financial planning, performance management, and decision-making.
• Provide actionable insights on revenue growth, margin optimization, store productivity, and cost controls.
• Support strategic initiatives such as store expansion, refurbishments, channel mix, pricing, and promotions.

2. P&L Ownership & Performance Management

• Own end-to-end P&L for the Retail business.
• Monitor monthly performance against budget and forecasts; highlight risks and opportunities.
• Drive corrective actions to improve EBITDA and cash flows.

3. Budgeting, Forecasting & Planning

• Lead annual budgeting, rolling forecasts, and long-range business plans.
• Develop scenario planning and sensitivity analysis for key business variables.
• Ensure alignment between financial plans and business strategy.

4. Retail & Store Analytics

• Track and analyze store-level KPIs including sales per sq. ft., conversion, ASP, inventory turns, shrinkage, and store profitability.
• Evaluate new store viability, closures, and ROI assessments.
• Support category-wise and brand-wise profitability analysis.

5. Cost Management & Controls

• Drive cost optimization initiatives across rent, manpower, logistics, marketing, and overheads.
• Ensure robust financial controls, governance, and compliance across retail operations.
• Partner with internal audit and controllership teams to address gaps.

6. Cross-functional Collaboration

• Work closely with Supply Chain, Merchandising, HR, and Marketing teams to ensure financial discipline.
• Support negotiation with landlords, vendors, and service providers from a financial perspective.

7. Team Leadership

• Lead and develop the retail business finance team.
• Build strong analytical capability and business orientation within the team.

Qualifications & Experience

• CA / MBA (Finance) from a reputed institute
• 1015+ years of experience in Business Finance, preferably in Retail / Consumer / FMCG
• Proven experience in P&L management and business partnering at a senior level
