Job Description
Role Purpose:
The Senior Manager Commercial will be responsible for leading end-to-end commercial negotiations and contract management for artist, celebrity, talent, entertainment, and event-related engagements across NMACC - Jio World Centre.
Key Responsibilities:
Commercial Negotiation:
- Lead commercial negotiations with artists, celebrities, performers, speakers, influencers, production houses, talent agencies, promoters, and artist management companies.
- Negotiate artist fees, commercial terms, exclusivity clauses, performance agreements, intellectual property rights, hospitality requirements, technical riders, and cancellation clauses.
- Develop commercially competitive deal structures while balancing business objectives and talent expectations.
- Benchmark artist commercials and maintain market intelligence on industry pricing and engagement models.
Contract Management:
- Draft, review, negotiate, and execute commercial contracts in collaboration with Legal, Finance, and Business teams.
- Ensure all agreements comply with company policies, statutory regulations, and governance requirements.
- Manage contract lifecycle, renewals, amendments, payment milestones, and contractual obligations.
Stakeholder Management:
- Partner with Experiences & Events, Programming, Marketing, Finance, Legal, and Business stakeholders to ensure timely execution of commercial agreements.
- Serve as the primary commercial interface for artist managers, talent representatives, celebrity agencies, and external partners.
Commercial Planning & Budgeting:
- Support budgeting and financial planning for artist and entertainment engagements.
- Evaluate commercial proposals, conduct cost-benefit analysis, and recommend commercially viable solutions.
- Identify cost optimization opportunities without compromising business or event objectives.
Vendor & Relationship Management:
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with artist management companies, talent agencies, promoters, event partners, and entertainment vendors.
- Maintain a database of artist commercials, agency contacts, negotiated rates, and contract history.
Compliance & Governance:
- Ensure adherence to procurement policies, approval matrices, commercial governance, and audit requirements.
- Maintain confidentiality of all commercial discussions, negotiations, and contractual information.
Desired Candidate Profile:
- MBA/Postgraduate in Management, Commerce, Law, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
- 10-15 years of experience in Procurement, Commercial Contracts, Talent Management, Entertainment, Media, Hospitality, Sports, or Event Management.
- Proven experience in negotiating high-value commercial agreements with artists, celebrities, performers, speakers, influencers, talent agencies, and management companies.
- Strong understanding of commercial contracts, intellectual property rights, licensing, talent agreements, and procurement processes.
- Excellent commercial acumen, negotiation, influencing, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience managing multiple high-value negotiations simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
