Role Overview:
We are seeking a seasoned International Business Development leader to spearhead our global API expansion strategy from our Mumbai headquarters. In this high-impact role, you will act as the primary architect for our international market penetration, navigating complex regulatory landscapes and fostering long-term partnerships with global pharmaceutical majors. You will collaborate closely with cross-functional teams, including R&D, Supply Chain, and Regulatory Affairs, to ensure seamless product delivery and market compliance. By driving strategic growth and identifying untapped opportunities in regulated and semi-regulated markets, you will play a pivotal role in scaling our global footprint and solidifying our position as a preferred partner in the API space.
Key Responsibilities:
- Formulate and execute comprehensive market entry strategies to expand our API portfolio across international territories, ensuring alignment with long-term organizational revenue targets.
- Cultivate and manage high-value relationships with key decision-makers at global pharmaceutical companies to secure long-term supply contracts and strategic alliances.
- Lead complex contract negotiations and pricing strategies to maximize profitability while maintaining competitive positioning in diverse global markets.
- Analyze global market trends, competitor activities, and regulatory shifts to provide actionable insights that guide product development and portfolio prioritization.
- Mentor and lead high-performing sales teams, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability to achieve aggressive regional growth objectives.
Required Skillset:
- Demonstrated expertise in managing end-to-end international sales cycles within the API and pharmaceutical sector, with a proven track record of scaling business in regulated markets.
- Exceptional ability to navigate complex stakeholder ecosystems, utilizing high-level negotiation and interpersonal skills to influence senior leadership at global organizations.
- Strong analytical acumen to interpret market data and financial metrics, enabling the development of data-driven business strategies.
- Proven leadership capability in managing cross-functional teams and driving collaborative success in a fast-paced, on-site work environment based in Mumbai.
- A Masters degree in Business Administration or a related field from a premier institute, complemented by a deep understanding of global pharmaceutical regulatory frameworks.
- Possess 12 - 22 years of professional experience in international business development within the API industry.
