Summary:
Exciting opportunity for System Design Integrator in India to help shape the Defence business by supporting key programme milestones aligned with the Defence Combat strategy at Rolls-Royce India.
You will design innovative, high-performance Gas Turbine designs, balancing product attributes to meet customer needs. Working with multi-disciplinary teams, youll use tools like PLM, CAD (NX), Systems Engineering and Robust design to deliver cost-effective solutions that consider the full product lifecycle.
Responsibilities:
- Collaborate across engineering disciplines, to define, manage and meet interdependencies between subsystems/product systems to meet project requirements.
- Design of systems using Systems Engineering principles including the use of Robust design tools & techniques to achieve optimum solutions at product and sub-system level.
- Apply understanding of gas turbine product operation, product systems, sub-systems and interactions. Integrate and manage interfaces.
- Define mechanical and functional systems, product systems, sub-systems; planning and management of product change.
- Support risk assessments and maintain technical responsibility through the approval process.

Qualifications:
- 3-15 years of experience with Bachelors or Masters degree in Mechanical or Aeronautical Engineering; other qualifications with relevant experience may be considered.
- A broad understanding of Gas Turbine physical and functional characteristics would be advantageous.
- Strong technical knowledge in mechanical design methodologies and have an understanding of cross-discipline engineering concepts which include but are not limited to manufacturing engineering, aerodynamics, thermodynamics, thermal and mechanical analysis and cost engineering.
- Will be able to exchange complex technical ideas and information in a concise and logical way, over a wide range of topics.
- Highly numerate with strong technical and analytical skills, problem-solving ability and capable of systems level thinking. Excellent communication, inter-personal and presentation skills, and will need to be able to contribute effectively in a team environment.
