Fishery Expert

The Fishery Expert will be responsible for providing technical expertise and field-level support in fisheries and aquaculture management. The role involves working closely with district-level institutions, FPOs, SHGs, and rural communities to promote sustainable aquatic resource management and strengthen income generation through fishery-based models.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide technical guidance and on-field support to fish farmers, cooperatives, and SHGs.
• Design and implement fisheries and aquaculture-based livelihood interventions.
• Conduct regular field visits for pond monitoringassessing water quality, species selection, feed management, and harvesting practices.
• Organize and conduct capacity-building and training sessions for farmers and facilitators.
• Develop site-specific aquaculture management plans and sustainable models.
• Document project outcomes, best practices, and success stories.
• Facilitate linkages between farmers, input suppliers, and markets.

• Collaborate with local government departments and technical resource organizations.
  

Qualifications & Experience:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Fisheries Science, Aquaculture, Marine Biology, or related field.
• Experience: 2- 3 years of experience in fisheries or aquaculture project implementation, research, or development programs.
• Skills:
• Strong knowledge of aquaculture techniques, disease management, and fish nutrition.
• Familiarity with rural livelihoods and community-based livelihood programs.
• Excellent communication, coordination, and reporting skills.
