Job Summary

We are seeking a Supplier Quality Engineer experienced in stator lamination, core assembly, and electrical steel (E-steel) materials such as 400M50 / 470M50. The role involves supplier audits, process validation, and quality assurance for lamination stamping, core building, and welding processes.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct supplier audits, process validation, and PPAP/APQP reviews for stator lamination and core ring suppliers.
  
• Ensure compliance with E-steel standards (EN 10106 / IS 648) and control of magnetic & mechanical properties.
• Monitor lamination stamping, stacking, and welding processes.
• Identify and prevent lamination stamping defects such as:

- Burr formation Ensure sharp tool condition and proper clearance.

- Edge deformation or warping Control press tonnage and die alignment.

- Coating damage or flaking Use suitable tooling and lubrication; verify insulation

integrity.

- Misalignment / off-pitch punching Verify die indexing and press feed accuracy.

- Excessive scrap or mix-up Implement robust part traceability and segregation.

• Work with suppliers to implement corrective & preventive actions (8D, DMAIC).
• Validate core loss, magnetic flux, and dimensional parameters after stamping and core building.
• Support suppliers in tool maintenance and capability improvement (CP/CPK).
• Prepare supplier performance reports and drive continuous improvement programs.

Qualifications & Skills

• B.E. / B.Tech – Mechanical Engineering.
• 8–10 years of experience in Supplier Quality or Manufacturing Quality (preferably in motor/generator lamination).
• Hands-on knowledge in E-steel material handling, lamination stamping, stacking, and welding.
• Familiar with Temple, Pittie, POSCO, or similar lamination industries.
• Strong in APQP, PPAP, PFMEA, 8D and VDA 6.3systems.
• Good analytical, problem-solving, and supplier management skills.
