Curriculum Specialist

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Humanities Subject Matter Expert (SME) to contribute to an innovative AI Literacy Project for secondary education (Grades 612). This role sits at the intersection of Humanities and emerging technologies, focusing on developing high-quality instructional content that enables students to use Artificial Intelligence ethically, responsibly, and effectively.

Key Responsibilities

Author and edit instructional scripts, lesson content, and student learning materials

Design engaging assignments and performance-based assessments

Develop scoring rubrics and evaluation frameworks

Create curriculum blueprints and scope-and-sequence documents

Ensure alignment with US Curriculum and State Standards (History / ELA)

Review content for grade-level appropriateness and pedagogical accuracy

Integrate AI tools and AI literacy concepts into instructional design

Apply Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion (DEI) principles in educational content

Collaborate with project leads, editors, and cross-functional teams

Meet project milestones within defined timelines

Required Qualifications

Education

Bachelors or Masters degree in Education, History, Social Studies, English/ELA, or related field

Experience

Proven experience in secondary education (Grades 612) teaching or curriculum development

Experience developing standards-aligned curriculum materials

Curriculum & Assessment Expertise

Strong familiarity with US Curriculum and State Standards (History / ELA)

Experience creating performance tasks, assessments, and rubrics

AI & Technical Skills

Hands-on experience with AI tools (Generative AI, prompt engineering, AI video tools, synthetic media, or AI-integrated classroom practices)

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)

Ability to quickly learn new digital authoring and content management tools

Language & Communication

Expert command of English grammar and style

Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills

Strong written and verbal communication abilities

Strong time management and organizational skills

Adaptability in fast-paced project environments

Ability to work independently in a remote/contract capacity
