Head Horticulture

Key Responsibilities

Landscape Planning & Development

• Plan and design campus landscaping, seasonal plantations, and green spaces.
  
• Develop long-term horticulture strategies aligned with sustainability initiatives.
  
• Introduce eco-friendly landscaping practices and water conservation methods.
  
• Plan plantation drives and environmental awareness activities.
  

Maintenance & Upkeep

• Supervise maintenance of lawns, gardens, trees, shrubs, flower beds, and indoor plants.
  
• Ensure timely pruning, irrigation, fertilization, pest control, and disease management.
  
• Monitor health and growth of plants across campus.
  
  
• Maintain nursery operations (if applicable).
  

Environmental Sustainability

• Implement composting and organic waste management practices.
  
• Promote rainwater harvesting and drip irrigation systems.
  
• Support green campus initiatives and accreditation requirements (NAAC, NIRF, Green Audit, etc.).
  

Team Supervision

• Supervise gardeners, supervisors, and outsourced horticulture staff.
  
• Prepare duty rosters and monitor daily work schedules.
  
• Provide training on plant care, safety practices, and modern horticulture techniques.

• Prepare annual horticulture budget proposals.
  
• Monitor expenses and ensure cost control.
  
• Submit periodic reports on plantation, maintenance, and sustainability metrics.
  

Safety & Compliance

• Ensure safe use of tools, chemicals, and fertilizers.
  
• Maintain compliance with environmental and safety regulations.
