We are looking for a passionate Store Trainer to enhance our retail teams skills and elevate the Shyaway shopping experience.

Job Summary

The Store Trainer is responsible for designing, delivering, and evaluating training programs to equip Shyaways retail staff with the knowledge, skills, and confidence to provide exceptional customer service, drive sales, and represent the brands values. Reporting to the Retail Manager, the Store Trainer will collaborate with store teams to identify training needs, conduct engaging sessions, and ensure staff are well-versed in product knowledge, sales techniques, and customer engagement strategies specific to the lingerie retail industry.

Key Responsibilities

  • Training Program Development & Delivery
  • Design and implement comprehensive training programs covering product knowledge (lingerie types, sizing, materials, and trends), sales techniques, customer service, and Shyaways brand values.
  • Conduct onboarding sessions for new hires, including in-store training on fitting consultations, customer interactions, and store policies.
  • Deliver ongoing training workshops, role-plays, and coaching sessions to reinforce skills and address performance gaps.
  • Utilize a mix of training methods, including in-person sessions, e-learning modules, and interactive activities tailored to retail staff needs.

  • Collaboration with Retail Manager
  • Work closely with the Retail Manager to identify training needs based on store performance metrics, customer feedback, and staff evaluations.
  • Provide regular updates and reports on training progress, staff performance, and program effectiveness to the Retail Manager.
  • Support the Retail Manager in implementing new policies, promotions, or product launches through targeted training initiatives.

  • Staff Coaching & Performance Support
  • Observe and coach store associates on the shop floor to reinforce training, focusing on empathetic customer interactions, upselling, and cross-selling techniques.
  • Provide one-on-one feedback to employees to improve their confidence and performance, particularly in sensitive areas like lingerie fitting and customer consultations.
  • Monitor new hires during probationary periods to ensure successful onboarding and adherence to Shyaways service standards.

  • Training Material Management
  • Create and update training materials, including manuals, presentations, and visual aids, ensuring alignment with Shyaways brand voice and product updates.
  • Incorporate industry trends, such as body positivity and inclusive sizing, into training content to reflect Shyaways mission.
  • Maintain accurate training records and track completion rates for all staff.

  • Performance Evaluation & Reporting
  • Evaluate training effectiveness through assessments, employee feedback, and key performance indicators (KPIs) like sales growth, customer satisfaction scores, and service quality.
  • Prepare and present training reports to the Retail Manager, highlighting improvements and recommending future training initiatives.
  • Collaborate with the Retail Manager to develop continuous improvement plans for staff development.

  • Brand Representation
  • Act as a brand ambassador, modeling Shyaways values of inclusivity, empowerment, and customer-centricity during training and store interactions.
  • Stay updated on Shyaways product lines, marketing campaigns, and industry trends to ensure training content is relevant and impactful.

Qualifications & Skills

    Education
    : Bachelors degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Education, Fashion Retail, or a related field (preferred but not mandatory).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2-3 years of experience as a trainer, preferably in retail, fashion, or lingerie/intimate wear sectors. Experience in customer-facing roles is a plus.
  • Skills:
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to engage and motivate diverse teams.
  • Strong understanding of retail operations, sales techniques, and customer service principles, particularly in the lingerie or fashion industry.
  • Empathy and sensitivity to handle training on intimate wear, ensuring staff are confident in customer consultations.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and familiarity with learning management systems or e-learning platforms.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to manage multiple training schedules.
  • Ability to analyze performance metrics and translate insights into actionable training plans.
  • Personal Attributes: Passionate about retail, customer-focused, creative, adaptable, and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Reporting Structure

  • The Store Trainer reports directly to the Retail Manager, who oversees store operations and performance.
  • The Store Trainer will collaborate with store supervisors and floor staff to ensure training aligns with daily operations and business goals.

Work Environment

  • The role involves working in Shyaway retail stores, with occasional travel to other store locations for training sessions.
  • Flexible hours may be required, including weekends or evenings, to accommodate store schedules.
  • The role requires standing for extended periods and engaging in hands-on training activities.
