Job Description
Role & responsibilities
An Electrical Design Engineer plays a vital role in the development and implementation of Extra High Voltage (EHV) transmission projects, which typically operate at voltages up-to 765 KV system. The responsibilities of these engineers encompass various aspects of the project, including design, analysis, coordination, and
compliance with regulations.
*Complete quantity verification of Electrical portion during post tendering
* Evaluation of site conditions and site survey
* Complete Design and Drawings preparation & submission for approval
* Complete Electrical Execution
Key Responsibilities:
1. Initial Planning and Feasibility Study
- Route Selection: Assist in selecting the optimal route for the transmission line, taking into account geographical, environmental, and social factors.
- Feasibility Studies: Conduct feasibility analyses to assess the economic, technical, and environmental viability of the proposed transmission project.
2. System Design
- Overall Design Concept: Develop the conceptual design of the transmission system, including single-line diagrams, layout plans, and system configuration.
- Load Flow and Short Circuit Analysis: Perform electrical load flow and short-circuit studies to evaluate the performance of the system under various conditions and to identify potential issues.
3. Equipment Specification
- Selection of Equipment: Specify and select high voltage equipment such as transformers, circuit breakers, insulators, and conductors suitable for the EHV application.
- Technical Evaluation: Work with suppliers to evaluate and document the technical specifications of equipment, ensuring compatibility with design requirements.

4. Protection System Design
- Protection Schemes: Design protection systems to safeguard against faults and abnormal conditions, including primary and backup protection methods.
- Relay Coordination: Develop coordination between various protective devices to ensure reliability and efficiency in the systems operation.
5. Control and Automation
- Cable scheduling
- Secondary engineering
Preferred candidate profile
1. BE / BTech - Electrical
2. Total Experience - 7 to 15 Years in EHV Transmission system.
3. Sound knowledge regarding Electrical engineering and design, Team management and time management.
