Assistant Quality Material Engineer

To assist in ensuring that all construction materials and road works comply with approved specifications, IRC/MoRTH standards, project contract requirements, and quality control procedures through systematic testing, inspection, documentation, and reporting.

• Conduct and assist in laboratory and field tests for:

  • Soil (CBR, Atterberg limits, Proctor test)

  • Aggregates (gradation, impact value, crushing value, flakiness & elongation index)

  • Bitumen (penetration, ductility, softening point, viscosity)

  • Concrete (slump test, cube test, compressive strength)

• Ensure compliance with MoRTH, IRC, IS codes and project specifications.

• Monitor quality of materials like GSB, WMM, DBM, BC layers.

• Supervise laying and compaction of:

  • Subgrade

  • Granular Sub-Base (GSB)

  • Wet Mix Macadam (WMM)

  • Bituminous layers

• Check field density tests (FDT), core cutting tests, and surface regularity.

• Ensure proper temperature control during bituminous works.

• Witness contractor s tests and verify results.

• Maintain daily quality inspection reports.

• Prepare and update:

  • 
    Test registers

  • Material approval reports

  • Mix design approvals

  • Quality audit records

• Assist in preparing Monthly Quality Reports (MQR).

• Maintain calibration records of laboratory equipment.

• Ensure implementation of Quality Assurance Plan (QAP).

• Assist during internal/external quality audits.

• Identify non-conformance issues and recommend corrective actions.

• Support in preparation of Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).

• Coordinate with:

  • Site engineers

  • Contractors

  • Laboratory technicians

  • Resident Engineer / Authority Engineer

• Participate in site meetings related to quality control.

• Bachelor s Degree / Diploma in Civil Engineering.

• 2 5 years experience in Roads & Highways projects.

  Get Hired
  Experience in NHAI / MoRTH / State PWD projects preferred.
  

• Knowledge of IRC, MoRTH, IS specifications.

• Familiarity with mix design procedures (bituminous & concrete).

• Understanding of pavement layers and construction methodology.

• Ability to operate lab equipment.

• Basic knowledge of MS Excel for reporting.
