Mainframe Engineer, India - Remote

Job Summary
We are seeking a Mainframe Engineer with 4 6 years of experience supporting and maintaining IBM mainframe applications. The ideal candidate will have strong expertise in z/OS, JCL, COBOL, VSAM, DB2, batch processing, and Rocket Software tools. This role involves production support, troubleshooting, data integration, performance optimization, and modernization initiatives.
Responsibilities
- Support and maintain applications running on IBM Mainframe (z/OS).
- Monitor and manage batch jobs, job scheduling, and production systems.
- Troubleshoot and resolve abends, job failures, and production issues.
- Manage and optimize batch processing using JCL.
- Work with Rocket Software tools for data access, file management, and modernization.
- Perform data validation, profiling, and quality checks.
- Support data movement and integration between mainframe and modern platforms.
- Analyze and improve batch job performance.
- Work with VSAM, GDG, flat files, and DB2 databases.
- Ensure compliance with security, governance, and data protection standards.
- Collaborate with business teams, data engineers, and project stakeholders.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies and sprint-based delivery activities.

Experience
