About the Role

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic Finance Controller to lead financial operations across the African region while partnering closely with global finance teams. The ideal candidate is a Chartered Accountant (CA) with 12+ years of experience in financial management, reporting, compliance, and business partnering within multinational environments.

This role requires strong cross-border coordination, regional statutory expertise, and the ability to work with global stakeholders across time zones.

Key Responsibilities

1. Financial Reporting & Control

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual financial reporting for Africa region
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, local GAAP, and group accounting policies
• Manage consolidation and reporting to global headquarters
• Oversee internal controls and ensure SOX compliance (if applicable)
• Drive accurate forecasting and budgeting processes

2. Regional Compliance & Governance

• 
  Ensure compliance with statutory, tax, and regulatory requirements across multiple African jurisdictions
• Manage external audits and liaise with auditors
• Oversee transfer pricing documentation and cross-border transactions
• Strengthen financial governance frameworks across entities

3. Business Partnering

• Partner with regional leadership and global finance teams to support strategic decision-making
• Provide financial insights and performance analysis
• Support commercial teams with pricing, cost optimization, and margin analysis
• Drive financial discipline across operations

4. Global Stakeholder Management

• Act as the primary finance interface between Africa and global headquarters
• Collaborate with global FP&A, treasury, tax, and controllership teams
• Ensure alignment of regional reporting with global standards

5. Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor regional finance teams
• Build strong finance capabilities across multiple countries
• Drive performance culture and continuous improvement

Required Qualifications

• Experience working with multinational companies and global finance teams
• Proven experience managing multi-country African operations
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and regional statutory requirements
• Experience in ERP systems (SAP/Oracle/NetSuite preferred)
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills

Preferred Experience

• Experience working with Big 4 firms (e.g., Deloitte, PwC, EY, KPMG)
• Exposure to complex cross-border tax structures
• Experience in shared services or global capability centers
• Experience managing currency volatility and treasury operations in emerging markets
