Fabric Merchandiser

About the Role

We are looking for a proactive and detail-oriented Fabric Merchandiser with 2–3 years of experience in both knits and woven fabrics. The ideal candidate should have a strong textile background, good market knowledge, and the ability to coordinate with mills, suppliers, and internal teams to ensure timely sourcing and development of fabrics.

Key Responsibilities

• Handling complete knit fabric merchandising process from development to bulk
• Handling fabric development, sampling, and approvals
• Coordination with mills/suppliers for pricing, quality, lead time, and deliveries
• Follow-up on lab dips, strike-offs, bulk production, and testing
• Monitoring fabric quality parameters and ensuring compliance with buyer standards
• Negotiation with suppliers for cost optimization
• Maintaining fabric records, approvals, and documentation
• Coordination with production, planning, and design teams

• Ensuring on-time fabric availability to meet production timelines

Key Skills & Competencies

• Graduate/Diploma in Textile Technology or related field
• 2–3 years of relevant experience in fabric merchandising (Textile background preferred)
• Strong knowledge of knit & woven fabric construction, GSM, blends, dyeing & finishing
• Understanding of textile processes and fabric quality standards
• Good communication and negotiation skills
• Vendor management and follow-up capability
• Ability to work under deadlines
• Basic knowledge of costing and fabric consumption
• Proficiency in MS Excel
