Chartered Accountant

Role Overview:

We are looking for a Chartered Accountant with 1 - 2 years of post-qualification experience to join our Audit & Assurance team. The candidate will be responsible for handling statutory audits, tax audits, accounting assignments, taxation matters, GST compliance, and client assignments.

The role offers exposure to multiple industries and provides an opportunity to work directly with clients and senior professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

Audit & Assurance:

• Plan and execute statutory, internal, tax, and other audits as assigned.
• Perform audit procedures, verification, and substantive testing.
• Review financial statements, ledgers, vouchers, and supporting documents.
• Identify accounting discrepancies, control weaknesses, and areas of financial risk.
• Prepare and review audit working papers and documentation.
• Ensure compliance with applicable Accounting Standards / Ind AS and auditing standards.
• Assist in finalization of financial statements and audit reports.

Tax Audit & Income Tax:

• Handle Tax Audit assignments and preparation of Form 3CA/3CB and 3CD.
• Assist in preparation and review of income-tax computations and returns.
• Conduct tax-related reconciliations and reviews.
• Assist in handling income-tax notices, assessments, and related submissions.
• Research and interpret applicable provisions of the Income Tax Act.

GST & Indirect Tax:

• Assist clients with GST compliance, returns, and reconciliations.
• Review GST records and identify mismatches/discrepancies.
• Assist with GST audits and assessments.
• Support clients in resolving GST notices and compliance-related matters.

Accounting & Financial Statements:

• Assist clients with accounting and financial statement preparation.
• Review trial balances, ledgers, provisions, accruals, and reconciliations.
• Assist in year-end closing and finalization of accounts.
• Ensure financial statements comply with applicable accounting standards and regulatory requirements.

Client Handling:

• Coordinate directly with clients for audit requirements and information.
• Communicate audit observations and documentation requirements professionally.
• Manage multiple client assignments and ensure timely completion.
• Build and maintain strong professional relationships with clients.

Team & Assignment Management:

• Guide and review the work of article assistants and junior team members.
• Allocate work and monitor assignment timelines.
• Maintain proper audit documentation and working papers.
• Coordinate with Partners and Managers on significant audit matters.
• Ensure assignments are completed within agreed timelines.

Required Skills:

• Strong knowledge of auditing, accounting, taxation, and financial reporting.
• Good understanding of Companies Act, Income Tax Act, GST, and applicable Accounting/Auditing Standards.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good knowledge of MS Excel and accounting software/ERP systems.
• Excellent communication and client-handling skills.
• Ability to independently handle assignments with minimum supervision.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to professional quality.
• Ability to manage multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Qualification & Experience:

• Chartered Accountant (CA) - Mandatory.
• 1 - 2 years of post-qualification experience in an audit/CA firm preferred.
• Candidates with strong articleship experience in statutory audit, tax audit, GST, and taxation may also be considered.
• Experience with clients across multiple industries will be an advantage.
