Job Description
Role & Responsibilities:-
The incumbent is responsible for driving commercial growth across the Southern Region(Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana & Puducherry) by developing new business opportunities, managing government and municipal sector engagements, and leading strategic commercial initiatives. The role focuses on winning large-scale EPC and O&M contracts in the water and wastewater domain, strengthening SUEZs presence in the region, and ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
Key Responsibilities
A. Business Development & Sales Strategy
- Lead BD initiatives to achieve annual sales targets and expand market share in the Northern region.
- Formulate and execute strategic sales plans aligned with regional and organizational goals.
- Proactively develop a robust opportunity pipeline, particularly for anticipated government tenders.
- Identify and pursue business opportunities across EPC, Design & Build, O&M, and Water Technology solutions.
B. Government Sector Engagement
- Build and manage strong relationships with municipal corporations, government departments, utilities, and state agencies.
- Demonstrate deep understanding of public procurement guidelines, tendering norms, GFR, CVC directives, and e-procurement systems.
- Ensure compliance with government bid requirements, statutory submissions, and documentation.
- Leverage strong knowledge of water and wastewater treatment technologies (e.g., WTP, STP, MBR, RO, ZLD, SCADA systems) in positioning SUEZs capabilities.
- Promote innovative and value-added solutions to clients during pre-bid and bid discussions.
- Analyze tender documents, contractual terms, commercial conditions, LD clauses, milestone payments, and risk exposures.
- Collaborate with Engineering, Proposals, Estimation, and Legal teams to develop competitive submissions.
E. Market Intelligence & Competition Analysis
- Monitor trends in the water and wastewater market (municipal, urban development, smart cities, AMRUT, Jal Jeevan Mission, etc.).
- Evaluate competitor strategies, pricing patterns, and emerging technologies.
- Recommend strategic positioning and differentiation strategies based on market insights.
F. Client Engagement & Relationship Management
- Establish and maintain strong relationships with key decision-makers, consultants, PMCs, and government stakeholders.
- Represent SUEZ at conferences, industry forums, government meetings, and client interactions.
- Maintain a high level of client satisfaction through continued engagement and solution-based discussions.

Negotiations & Deal Closure
- Lead commercial negotiations with clients, ensuring optimal terms and risk protection.
- Secure approvals for pricing, terms, and commercial deviations internally.
- Facilitate smooth handover to the Execution team post-award.
Preferred candidate profile
Educational Qualifications:-
- B.Tech / B.E. (Any Engineering Discipline)
- MBA (preferred from reputed institute)
Work Experience:-
- Minimum 10 of relevant experience in Business Development / Sales / Commercial roles in the Water & Wastewater sector
- Significant experience in government sector engagement and municipal procurement.
- Proven track record of winning large EPC and O&M contracts.
