Data Annotator

Job Summary

The Data Annotation Associate will be part of the Service Delivery team and will be responsible for reviewing, tagging, and classifying product data to support accurate search, discovery, and catalog management on client platforms.

The role requires working with structured guidelines and taxonomies to ensure high-quality data annotation, while meeting defined productivity and accuracy standards. The associate will collaborate closely with team members and adapt to evolving tools, processes, and data requirements in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Review, tag, and classify product data including titles, descriptions, images, and attributes to improve search relevance and product discoverability.
• Apply standardized annotation guidelines and classification rules consistently across datasets.
• Identify data discrepancies, missing attributes, or ambiguous cases, and escalate them when required.
• Maintain high standards of data accuracy, completeness, and consistency while meeting quality and productivity targets.
• Perform quality checks by reviewing, correcting, or reprocessing annotated data.
• Ensure product catalog data remains clean, structured, and reliable.
• Collaborate with team members to support shared goals and continuous process improvements.
• Perform additional annotation or classification tasks as required to support product search and catalog enrichment programs.
• Adapt to changes in guidelines, workflows, tools, and processes as business needs evolve.

Minimum Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in any discipline with 1-3 years of experience in the Data field
• Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured guidelines and taxonomies.
• Basic understanding of e-commerce, product catalogs, or data classification concepts.
• Ability to process repetitive tasks accurately while maintaining productivity targets.
• Proficiency with computers and common productivity tools (spreadsheets, web-based tools, data platforms).
• Strong written communication skills in English.
• Ability to work independently as well as collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience in data annotation, data labeling, catalog management, or e-commerce operations.
• Familiarity with product taxonomies, ontologies, or classification frameworks.
• Experience working with search relevance, query-product matching, or product attribute enrichment tasks.
• Comfort working with large datasets and rule-based decision frameworks.
• Exposure to quality assurance processes or audit workflows.
• Ability to quickly learn new tools, guidelines, and domain concepts.
