Job Description
- As an Application Manager (HIMS), your role involves overseeing the end-to-end management of the Hospital Information Management System. This includes coordinating with HMIS vendors for customization, upgrades, troubleshooting, and system integration. You will be responsible for ensuring the effective functioning of modules related to patient care such as OPD, IPD, Emergency, Pharmacy, Laboratory, Radiology, Billing, Insurance, etc. Monitoring system performance, uptime, and usage analytics to ensure availability and reliability is also a key part of your responsibilities. Regular audits need to be conducted to ensure data accuracy and compliance with NABH, NABL, and other statutory requirements. Additionally, managing Mobile Health Applications to support patient engagement, teleconsultation, online reports, appointment booking, and digital health records is crucial.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee end-to-end management of the Hospital Information Management System
- Coordinate with HMIS vendors for customization, upgrades, troubleshooting, and system integration
- Ensure effective functioning of modules related to patient care
- Monitor system performance, uptime, and usage analytics
- Conduct regular audits to ensure data accuracy and compliance with statutory requirements
- Manage Mobile Health Applications for patient engagement and digital health records
User Support & Training:
- Provide application-level support to doctors, nurses, administrative staff, and other end users
- Organize regular training sessions and workshops for optimal software use
- Act as a liaison between hospital departments and software vendors
- Maintain user manuals and SOPs for applications
- Coordinate integration between hospital applications
- Gather user feedback for proposing enhancements and customizations
Vendor & Stakeholder Coordination:
- Liaise with software vendors, service providers, and internal departments
- Track Service Level Agreements (SLAs) and ensure timely support
Data & Security Management:
- Ensure data accuracy, security, and compliance with healthcare regulations
- Work with IT security team for access controls and backup systems
Reporting & Documentation:
- Generate reports related to application performance and system updates
- Maintain detailed documentation of workflows and configurations
- Develop dashboards and MIS reports for management
Qualifications Required:

- Experience: Minimum 5-7 years of experience in application support or health IT, including hands-on work with HIMS or similar hospital applications. Prior experience in a hospital or healthcare setting is mandatory
Technical Skills Required:
- In-depth knowledge of HIMS, EMR, LIS, PACS, and related healthcare systems
- Understanding of SQL databases, data analysis, basic scripting or programming
- Familiarity with HL7, DICOM, ICD coding, and integration protocols in healthcare IT
Soft Skills Required:
- Strong communication and coordination skills
- Ability to manage a team and work cross-functionally
- Problem-solving attitude with a user-centric mindset
Preferred Skills:
- May require working beyond regular hours during application updates or system outages
- Role involves coordination between medical, administrative, and technical teams
- Must ensure availability of critical applications 24x7 in collaboration with the IT support team,
