Job Description
To position Talrops Research & Development as a trusted partner for innovation and product development across industries. This leader will be responsible for creating, nurturing, and scaling
strategic relationships with corporates, industries, research bodies, and government agencies - driving consistent project inflow and representing Talrop R&D as the face of collaboration and innovation.
Core Responsibilities:
1. Business Development & Client Acquisition
- Identify potential clients across all sectors - technology, manufacturing, construction, healthcare, media, sustainability, and beyond.
- Develop and execute a comprehensive outreach strategy targeting corporates, MSMEs, and research-oriented organizations.
- Conduct market research to understand industry pain points and R&D needs; translate them into tailored solutions.
- Prepare and deliver high-impact business presentations, proposals, and MoUs.
- Establish long-term partnerships with companies requiring continuous R&D or product development support.
2. Strategic Relationship Management
- Build high-level networks with CXOs, R&D heads, and innovation managers in public and private sectors.
- Represent Talrop R&D in industry events, conferences, exhibitions, and business forums.
- Work closely with chambers of commerce, startup councils, innovation missions, and trade bodies.
- Maintain strong relationships with educational institutions and research councils to identify joint R&D opportunities.
3. Revenue & Partnership Growth
- Drive revenue targets through project acquisitions, retainer agreements, and consortium partnerships.
- Identify potential for international collaborations, especially in GCC and emerging markets.
- Develop strategic alliances for joint product development, co-research, or IP licensing.

- Work hand-in-hand with the Head of Strategy, Operations & Delivery to ensure accurate scoping, costing, and execution of projects.
- Participate in resource planning and client onboarding.
- Provide market insights to guide the R&D teams future focus areas.
Ideal Candidate Profile:
- 10 - 15 years of experience in B2B Business Development, Industrial Relations, or Strategic Partnerships, preferably in R&D, technology, or consulting domains.
- Strong industry network across at least 3 - 4 verticals.
- Proven track record of winning large-scale contracts or strategic partnerships.
- Excellent communication, negotiation, and presentation skills.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to represent the organization at the highest levels.
- Based in Kerala (Kochi or Trivandrum preferred), with flexibility for interstate and international travel.
