Role Overview
The Global Benefits Specialist supports the administration, analysis, and ongoing management of Banyans global benefits and pension programs, with responsibility across India, the United States, Canada, the United Kingdom, Europe, and APAC.
This role requires independent judgment, strong operational ownership, and the ability to manage complex benefits and retirement schemes across multiple jurisdictions. In addition to day-to-day administration, the role contributes to program management, data analysis, compliance oversight, and continuous improvement initiatives within the Total Rewards function.
Reporting to the Senior Manager, Total Rewards (Compensation & Benefits), this role works closely with the broader HR team, the Global Payroll team, Finance, and external vendors to ensure global benefits and pension programs are administered accurately, compliantly, and consistently.
Key Responsibilities
- Independently administer global employee benefits programs, including medical, pension and retirement schemes, insurance, wellness, leave, and statutory benefits across multiple countries.
- Support the administration of global retirement and pension plans, including defined contribution, defined benefit, and country-specific statutory pension schemes, ensuring accurate eligibility, enrollments, contributions, and compliance with local regulations.
- Manage day-to-day benefits operations, including enrollments, changes, audits, reconciliations, vendor invoicing, and terminations, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Serve as a knowledgeable point of contact for employee benefits inquiries, resolving complex cases related to healthcare, retirement, pension contributions, and payroll-integrated benefits.
- Partner closely with the Global Payroll team to ensure accurate payroll deductions, employer contributions, statutory remittances, and benefits-related payroll feeds across regions.
- Collaborate with HR Business Partners and HR Operations to support onboarding, offboarding, employee life-event changes, and global benefits education.
- Support benefits due diligence and integration activities for newly acquired companies, including alignment of retirement and pension programs with Banyans global Total Rewards framework.
- Monitor regulatory and compliance requirements across supported regions, including pension, social security, tax, and labor law obligations; escalate risks and support remediation activities.
- Contribute to benefits analysis and reporting, including enrollment metrics, utilization trends, cost tracking, benchmarking, and vendor performance measurement.
- Support global benefits program management initiatives, including policy documentation, process improvements, renewals, and implementation of new or enhanced benefit offerings.
- Maintain accurate and confidential benefits data in HRIS and benefits administration systems, ensuring data integrity and audit readiness.
- Coordinate with external brokers, carriers, pension administrators, and third-party vendors to resolve issues, support renewals, and maintain service levels.
Qualifications
- 3-5 years of experience in benefits administration, total rewards, or HR operations, preferably in a global or multi-country environment.
- Solid working knowledge of global employee benefits programs, including healthcare, insurance, statutory benefits, and pension/retirement schemes across multiple jurisdictions.
- Experience supporting retirement and pension administration, including payroll integration, employer and employee contributions, eligibility tracking, reconciliations, and compliance oversight.
- Experience supporting global benefits administration and programs across the US, Canada, UK, Europe, India and APAC.
- Strong analytical skills with experience preparing benefits reports, tracking utilization and costs, and supporting data-driven program decisions.
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, apply sound judgment, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, global environment.
