Manager - Production - Pharma Industry

Company Profile:

The company is the Head Office & Global Manufacturing Site of a USA based company, a world leader in Gelatin Capsules the Machine Division manufactures laboratory scale Pharma machines. Over 95% of sales are North America, the EU & Japan.

Position : Manager Production.

Principal thrust area:

- Achieve targets for Output, Quality, Cost and Delivery Date through optimum use of manpower, material and machines.

- You will be responsible for the preparation of gelatin solution and colouring; 3 dip moulding production lines operating on 24 hours basis; drying area; visual inspection and packing of finished product. Additionally, you will be responsible for packing operations for products purchased from sister company.

Key Deliverables:

- Plan and execute production activities based on the Production Dispatch Schedule (PDS) issued by the Sales team in the USA and EU. PDS is based on plant capacity.

- Maintain and improve control over process parameters to increase saleable product yield.
- Work with cross-functional teams for work related to capsule production, dispatch and complaints.
- Maintenance of ISO, GMP and good documentation practices. Preparing MIS reports.
- Work with the Utility team for daily breakdown and preventive maintenance related activities.
- Lead monthly Production Department meeting with overseas Director. Coordinate communication with US and EU sales teams.
- Coordinate with the Engineering team on new equipment and process improvement projects for increasing output and improving quality.
- Interest in developing new colors and sizes of our products and qualifying new suppliers.
- Overall handling of issues that arise with a workforce of 20+ permanent workmen and 80+ contract workmen in coordination with the HR Team.
- Annual goal setting, appraisal and training & development of direct reports for efficiency, & growth.
