Manager - Business Development - Investment Banking IPO Advisory

Role Overview:

An Investment Banking and an IPO advisory is hiring for a Manager - Business Development role focused strongly on sourcing new IPO mandates and building relationships with promoters/business owners.

The ideal candidate should have strong business development skills, an understanding of capital markets/IPO processes, and the ability to independently identify, approach and convert prospective clients.

Key Responsibilities:

• Identify and develop a pipeline of prospective companies suitable for IPO / SME IPO / capital raising.
• Generate new business through direct prospecting, referrals, networking and market intelligence.
• Build and maintain relationships with promoters, business owners, CFOs, CEOs and senior management.
• Understand client business, financials, growth plans and funding requirements to identify potential advisory opportunities.
• Coordinate with the internal Investment Banking / IPO Advisory / Research / Due Diligence teams for evaluation of prospects.
• Arrange and participate in client meetings, business discussions and presentations.
• Track leads from initial contact through mandate conversion.
• Develop strong relationships with CA firms, lawyers, wealth managers, investors, PE/VC funds and other intermediaries for referrals and deal sourcing.
• Monitor industry sectors and identify companies with potential for IPO readiness and capital raising.
• Maintain a structured database and regular reporting of prospects, meetings, opportunities and conversions.
• Travel extensively for client meetings, business development and relationship building.

Qualification and Candidate Profile:

• MBA / CA / CS with 3 - 5 years of experience in Investment Banking, Merchant Banking, IPO Advisory, Equity Capital Markets, Corporate Finance, Wealth Management or Financial Services Business Development.
• Strong understanding of IPO/SME IPO, capital markets and fundraising will be preferred.
• Strong network among promoters, entrepreneurs, CXOs and business owners will be an advantage.
• Excellent communication, presentation and negotiation skills.
• Highly target-driven, proactive and comfortable with extensive travel.
• Ability to independently build and manage a deal pipeline.
