Job Title:Planning Manager

Responsibilities

• Develop, maintain, and update detailed construction schedules using industry-standard software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project) for road and building projects.
  
• Lead the creation of integrated master schedules, including critical path analysis, milestone tracking, and progress reporting.
  
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and site supervisors to validate schedule assumptions, identify potential delays, and implement mitigation strategies.
  
• Conduct regular schedule reviews and variance analysis to assess performance against baseline plans and recommend corrective actions.
  
• Coordinate with procurement and logistics teams to align material delivery timelines with construction activities.
  
• Prepare and present schedule updates, progress reports, and forecasted completion dates to senior management and clients.
  
• Ensure compliance with contractual schedule requirements and support claims or extensions of time (EOT) documentation when necessary.
  
• Mentor and guide junior planners, fostering a culture of accuracy, accountability, and continuous improvement in planning practices.
  
• Integrate safety and environmental considerations into scheduling processes to support safe and sustainable construction execution.
  

Requirements

• Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field; professional certification (e.g., PMP, CPM, or PRINCE2) is highly preferred.
  
• 15 to 20 years of progressive experience in construction planning and scheduling, with demonstrated success on large-scale road and building projects.
  
• Proven expertise in Primavera P6 and MS Project, with advanced knowledge of CPM scheduling, resource leveling, and critical path analysis.
  
• Strong understanding of construction methodologies, sequencing, and trade coordination in both infrastructure and building environments.
  
• Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with complex interdependencies and tight deadlines.
  
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills with the ability to translate technical data into actionable insights.
  
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in fast-paced, high-pressure environments.
  
• Familiarity with industry standards such as AACE International guidelines, NEC, FIDIC, and local construction regulations.
