Accounts Payable Team Lead

The Experience Education (EE) division is part of the Travelopia Group, a KKR-owned company, and is a best-in-class provider of informative travel – working primarily with schools, colleges, and universities, we deliver a wide range of experiences for their students: from ski and adventure breaks to international travel supporting core curriculum topics, Sports Tours and Expeditions to places near and far.
This is a new role within the Education division, working closely with the Finance Processing Manager in owning the newly structured Financial Process team. You will be tasked with creating a best-in-class finance transactional service that is future-proofed. You will be the deputy for the Finance Processing Manager and will be supporting the growth and development of the team and ensuring they are well-equipped to use the newly implemented SAP system.
What you will be doing:
As the Accounts Payable Team Lead, you will be responsible for:

• Supervising the accounts payable team, to ensure suppliers’ invoices are posted correctly, suppliers are paid on time and accurately, and credit card and employee out-of-pocket expenses from Concur are submitted and posted accurately and on a timely basis.
• Acting as the SAP Super User for P2P and becoming the ‘go-to’ person for all queries and issues in this area
• Supporting the Finance Processing Manager with month-end close ensuring all Open items are reconciled/cleared.
• Purchase Ledger Invoice processing, payments, remittances, and reconciliations – Multi-Currency
• Processing Payment runs, Direct Debit requests, and setting up same-day payments on HSBC.
• Communicating with customers and suppliers by telephone and email investigating and responding to queries.
• Cash Analytics – producing detailed reports of actual payments each week and assisting in forecasting payments
• Regularly updating the Finance Processing Manager on all areas of responsibility.
• Providing cover as needed for the Finance Processing Manager.
• Supporting and assisting the annual audit process.

• Maintaining a good level of understanding and knowledge of the business ‘products and services.
  

What we are looking for:

• Good all-round Financial Accounting knowledge
• Experience in Accounts Payable processes and procedures
• Experience with SAP – S4 Hana Cloud
• Accounting qualified (advantageous though not crucial).
• Continuous improvement attitude.
• Organized and pro-active.
• Strong communication skills – written and verbal. Good leadership skills, with the ability to inspire and empower a globally dispersed team.
• Problem-solving attitude with the motivation to dive into detail when required.
• Ability to work under pressure and ensure deadlines are met.
