Head of Liquidation & Recommerce

About the Client:

A leading retail client with 250+ brand partnerships and annual turnover of 6,500+ Crores is looking to hire a senior leader to spearhead its liquidation and recommerce vertical. With 400 Crores of inventory flowing annually into returns, excess, and end-of-life, the mandate is to build an end-to-end recommerce business - grading, repairing, certifying, and reselling directly to consumers.

Role Overview:

The incumbent will be responsible for transforming liquidation into a scalable recommerce business. This includes establishing robust operations, building buyer networks, driving pricing architecture, and eventually launching refurbishment lines, consumer-facing stores, and online resale channels.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead operations: throughput, grading quality, inventory accuracy, dispatch, compliance
• Build and manage buyer networks across traders, resellers, B2B platforms, export and auction channels
• Own P&L: recovery %, cost to serve, inventory ageing, working capital, ROCE
• Ensure regulatory compliance: GST treatment, e-waste/EPR obligations, resale restrictions
• Build and lead teams across grading staff, buyers, coordinators, technicians, and store operations

Candidate Profile:

• 10-18 years experience, with 5-6+ years in liquidation, recommerce, reverse logistics, or distressed inventory
• Proven leadership of high-volume physical operations with strict SLAs
• Experience building direct buyer channels from scratch
• Activatable buyer network in Bengaluru/South India within 60-90 days
• P&L ownership including recovery economics and working capital
