Safety Officer (WTP/CETP Plant)

Job Summary:

We are seeking a qualified and experienced Safety Officer to ensure a safe working environment at our Common Effluent Treatment Plant (CETP) in Perundurai. The candidate will be responsible for implementing safety policies, ensuring regulatory compliance, and promoting a strong safety culture across plant operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, implement, and monitor safety policies and procedures in compliance with statutory regulations
• Conduct regular safety inspections, audits, and risk assessments across the plant
• Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety (EHS) standards applicable to CETP operations
• 
  Identify hazards related to chemical handling, effluent treatment processes, and machinery, and implement control measures
• Conduct safety training, toolbox talks, and awareness programs for employees and contractors
• Investigate accidents, incidents, and near-misses; prepare reports and recommend corrective actions
• Ensure proper usage of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) and enforce safety discipline
• Coordinate emergency preparedness plans, including mock drills (fire, chemical spills, confined space rescue, etc.)
• Liaise with government authorities and ensure compliance with statutory requirements (Factory Act, Pollution Control Board norms, etc.)
• Maintain safety documentation, records, and reports

Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree in Engineering / Science / Environmental Science or related field

Experience:

• Minimum 4 years of experience in industrial safety
• Preferably from CETP, chemical, pharma, or manufacturing industries
• Hands-on experience in handling hazardous chemicals and effluent treatment processes
