Job Description
- As a Packaging Design & Development Specialist at USV, you will play a crucial role in creating and enhancing packaging solutions for our diverse range of products both domestically and internationally. Your responsibilities will include:
- Developing packaging designs for new and existing products across Pharmaceuticals & Consumer Business segments.
- Managing various stages of the product development process such as Artwork Development, Transit Trials, Packaging Specification development, Stability studies, Prototype approval, Line trials, Cost negotiation, Packaging material delivery & Implementation, and exploring alternate packaging options.
- Driving financial efficiency by identifying cost-saving opportunities in packaging materials through strategic buying initiatives.
- Leading Strategic Project Initiatives by conducting Business analysis, Spend analysis, Opportunity Analysis, Option generation, Portfolio analysis, Sourcing approach, and implementing strategies for Specification optimization and Size rationalization.
- Implementing cost-saving initiatives for packaging materials and value engineering in alignment with existing and new business requirements.
- Developing alternate vendors and materials, and driving changes in the packaging process to enhance innovation in packaging materials, design, and processes.
- Spearheading Design Re-engineering efforts to uplift the design and appearance for Emerging and Regulated markets.

- Providing project management support for new export customer requirements, especially in Biologics & Other Injectable segments.
- Overseeing Packaging Procurement Operations for New Product Development, including Trial materials arrangement, Vendor Development, Selection and Performance Evaluation, Change control, Material code creation, Cost Negotiations, Shade card approval, and ensuring timely packaging material supply for commercial launch.
- Collaborating with cross-functional teams to hand over sourcing & procurement activities to the packaging procurement team for subsequent supplies.
