Job Description

Business Development Executive (BDE)

Position: Business Development Executive
Department: Sales & Business Growth
Location: (Your City / Territory)
Reporting To: Business Development Manager / Management

Role Overview

The BDE will be responsible for expanding Vajraa’s market presence by identifying new business opportunities across HoReCa, retail, modern trade, and distributors. The role requires strong field presence, communication skills, and daily operational discipline, including order pickup and delivery follow-up.

Key Responsibilities

1. New Client Acquisition

  • Identify and onboard new HoReCa customers (restaurants, cafs, caterers, cloud kitchens).
  • Acquire new retail outlets, supermarkets, and frozen stores.
  • Conduct sampling, product demos, and chef trials.
  • Pitch full Vajraa product range confidently.

2. Daily Sales Operations (NEW ADDITIONS INCLUDED)

  • Collect daily sales orders from existing customers (HoReCa + Retail).
  • Coordinate with dispatch/cold chain team to ensure on-time deliveries.
  • Follow up with customers to confirm deliveries, resolve issues, and ensure satisfaction.
  • Track pending orders, failed deliveries, and follow-up actions required.
  • Maintain WhatsApp/phone communication for smooth order flow.
  • Ensure zero delivery escalations and 100% fulfilment accuracy.

3. Business Expansion & Market Mapping

  • Map the assigned territory thoroughly—identify new zones, customers, and distributor options.
  • Conduct competitor analysis, pricing comparisons, and assortment gaps.
  • Recommend new opportunities for product placement or promotions.

4. Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with chefs, owners, purchase managers, and store managers.
  • Maintain regular visit cycles to drive repeat orders.
  • Collect product feedback and share insights with management.

5. Sales Growth & Execution

  • Achieve monthly revenue, outlet addition, and range-selling targets.
  • Execute sampling, promotional schemes, and visibility activities.
  • Push placement of full Vajraa lineup (peas, fries, nuggets, gravies, parathas, biryanis, ice cubes, etc.).

6. Reporting & Internal Coordination

  • Submit Daily Call Reports (DCR) with visits, orders, delivery status, and issues.
  • Update sales funnel, conversions, and pending enquiries.
  • Coordinate with accounts for billing/receipts and with production for stock planning.

7. Distributor & Modern Trade Support

  • Support distributor onboarding and order generation.
  • Coordinate for modern trade activations, order punching, and replenishment.
  • Work with key chains like Reliance, Metro, Best Price, Zepto, Blinkit, Instamart, etc.

Skills & Qualifications

  • Graduate in any field; MBA preferred.
  • 1–5 years experience in FMCG/F&B/HoReCa sales.
  • Strong communication and negotiation skills.
  • Good understanding of order cycles, dispatch workflow, and cold chain coordination.
  • Basic MS Excel / WhatsApp Business / CRM knowledge.
