To partner with us in this exciting journey and unlock new values for the business, we are looking for passionate professionals in the position of Chief Research & Development Officer for Vedanta Aluminium.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Build and lead a comprehensive research portfolio covering Minerals Beneficiation, New Product Development, Process Intensification, and Energy-related initiatives.
• Drive reduction and ESG-focused programs, while leading a high-performing research team comprising experts in Physical Metallurgy, Process Engineering, and Simulation.
• Collaborate with premier external research institutions (such as IITs, CSIR labs) and start-up partners to achieve key business objectives.
• Lead R&D and coordinate with the Legal team for IP creation, including patents and publications. Strengthen Vedanta Aluminiums representation across forums, including those hosted by CSIR, IITs, and government ministries.
• Develop and maintain a robust product portfolio for aluminium alloys and new products, in close partnership with Marketing teams and external consultants.

Education Qualification | Work-Ex| Desired Attributes

• ME/M.Tech and preferably a PhD, with 15+ years of relevant experience.
• Strong understanding of Integrated Computational & Materials Engineering (ICME) tools for accelerated alloy development.
• Deep expertise across the aluminium value chainAlumina manufacturing, Alumina smelting, and Aluminium metal production.
• Proven experience in new product development in Alumina and Aluminium alloys.

• Experience in developing processes for the utilization of industrial by-products such as Red Mud, Fly Ash, or similar waste materials in the Alumina and Aluminium industries.
