Deputy Manager - Credit

Bengaluru, Karnataka | On-site | 3+ years | CA | 25 - 30% Pan-India Travel

About Vegrow

Vegrow is a fast-growing B2B fresh fruit supply chain, working across domestic, import, and export channels. Our credit function plays a critical role in enabling business growth while maintaining portfolio quality.

As Deputy Manager - Credit, you will own day-to-day credit underwriting, limit monitoring, and portfolio health across Vegrow's customer base. This is a high-ownership role for an early-career finance professional looking to build strong credit judgment in a fast-moving, data-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Customer Underwriting: Evaluate credit applications end-to-end, including financials, trading history, cash flows, and sector-specific risks. Prepare credit appraisals and recommend appropriate credit limits.
  • Limit Monitoring: Monitor credit limit utilization and process limit adjustment requests based on business and seasonal requirements. Identify exceptions and escalate risks.
  • Portfolio Monitoring: Track DPI (Days Past Oldest Unpaid Invoice) and DPD on a daily basis. Identify early-warning signals and maintain a watchlist for at-risk accounts.
  • Collections Coordination: Prepare and hand over DPI 120+ accounts to the collections team with complete documentation and track resolution.
  • Business Performance Reviews: Compile and validate portfolio data for weekly BPRs, ensuring accuracy and clear explanation of key variances.
  • Policy & Governance: Ensure adherence to credit SOPs across channels, identify policy gaps or exceptions, and maintain audit-ready credit documentation.
  • Field Assessments: Travel 25 - 30% across India to assess customer operations, validate financial information, and interact with key customers/traders.

What We're Looking For

  • CA with 3+ years of experience in credit underwriting, credit analysis, or lending.
  • Experience in NBFCs, banks, agritech, or supply-chain finance is preferred.
  • Strong understanding of financial statement analysis, cash-flow assessment, and credit risk evaluation.
  • Comfortable working with data and credit monitoring tools, with the ability to independently identify portfolio trends and risks.
  • Strong attention to detail and a zero-error mindset, particularly with credit documentation and reporting.
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work closely with sales teams and business stakeholders.
  • Experience with agri-trader or SME lending is a plus.
  • Willingness to travel 25 - 30% Pan-India for field assessments and customer visits.
