General Manager - Defence Equipment Sales

We are looking for a dynamic and experienced General Manager Defence Equipment Sales with a strong military background and deep understanding of the Indian Defence ecosystem. The ideal candidate should be a Retired Brigadier with a minimum of 25 years of distinguished service and strong exposure to defence procurement, equipment acquisition, logistics, engineering, capability development, and strategic planning.
The candidate will be responsible for developing defence business opportunities, managing key relationships, supporting equipment sales initiatives, and leveraging their understanding of defence requirements, procurement processes, and operational capabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and drive Defence Equipment Sales and Business Development initiatives.
- Develop and execute sales strategies aligned with defence market requirements and organizational objectives.
- Leverage extensive knowledge of Defence procurement processes, equipment acquisition, and capability development.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders across the Defence Services, Government, and Defence ecosystem.
- Identify new business opportunities and support the development of strategic defence accounts.
- Understand customer operational requirements and translate them into appropriate equipment and solution opportunities.
- Support the organization in tender participation, procurement processes, and strategic business engagements.
- Provide strategic inputs on defence modernization, capability enhancement, equipment requirements, and emerging opportunities.
- Work closely with engineering, product, commercial, and leadership teams to align solutions with customer requirements.
- Support planning and execution of defence equipment demonstrations, evaluations, trials, and customer engagements.
- Monitor defence market developments, procurement priorities, and competitive landscape.
- Provide leadership and guidance to sales and business development teams.
- Represent the organization in defence industry forums, meetings, exhibitions, and stakeholder engagements.
- Contribute to long-term business planning and strategic growth initiatives within the defence sector.
Key Skills & Qualifications:
- Retired Brigadier from the Indian Armed Forces.
- Minimum 2-5 years of distinguished military service.
- Retirement preferably within the last 2 - 3 years.
- Strong experience and understanding of Defence Procurement.
- Strong knowledge of Defence Equipment Acquisition and Logistics.
- Experience in Engineering and Technical Operations.
- Strong understanding of Capability Development and Modernization.
- Extensive experience in Strategic Planning and Operational Planning.
- Strong understanding of defence requirements, acquisition processes, and operational capabilities.
- Excellent relationships and stakeholder management skills within the Defence ecosystem.
- Strong leadership, communication, negotiation, and business development skills.
- Ability to understand complex technical requirements and translate them into business opportunities.
- Strong strategic thinking and decision-making capabilities.
- Age below 52 years preferred.
