Job Title: Head of English Department (HOD English)

We are looking for an experienced and dynamic Head of the English Department (HOD English) to lead our English faculty and oversee the development of students’ communication skills. The HOD will ensure effective implementation of the English curriculum, support teacher training, and maintain high academic standards across the department.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the English Department.
  
  
• Ensure effective implementation of the school’s English curriculum.
  
• Train, guide, and support English teachers in teaching methodologies and curriculum delivery.
  
• Monitor and enhance students’ communication skills (listening, speaking, reading, writing).
  
• Plan and oversee assessments, exams, and academic activities.
  
• Conduct classroom observations and provide constructive feedback to teachers.
  
• Organize English-related events such as debates, speeches, reading programs, etc.
  
• Review and update teaching plans, lesson plans, and learning materials.
  
• Analyze student performance and recommend improvement strategies.
  
• Coordinate with the academic leadership team and submit required departmental reports.
  

Qualifications & Skills

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in English, Literature, Linguistics, or Education (B.Ed./M.Ed. preferred).
  
• Minimum 5 years of experience teaching English; leadership experience preferred.
  
• Strong command of English language and excellent communication skills.
  
• Experience in curriculum implementation and teacher mentoring.
  
• Strong organizational, leadership, and classroom management skills.
