Business Analyst - Risk Management (BFSI)

Role Overview:

- The ideal candidate will have strong domain knowledge in Credit, Market, Liquidity or Enterprise Risk, along with hands-on experience in requirements gathering, stakeholder management, agile delivery, and SQL-based data analysis.
- This role requires working closely with business stakeholders, technology teams, and risk management functions to translate business requirements into scalable technology solutions.
Key Responsibilities:
Risk Domain Expertise:
- Demonstrate strong understanding of Financial Risk Management including Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Operational Risk, and Enterprise Risk Management frameworks.

- Work with risk teams to analyze regulatory requirements and translate them into functional requirements.

- Support initiatives aligned with regulatory frameworks and risk governance standards.
Business Analysis & Requirements Management:
- Perform end-to-end business analysis activities including requirement elicitation, documentation, validation, and management.

- Create Business Requirement Documents (BRD), Functional Requirement Documents (FRD), user stories, process flows, and data mapping documents.

- Conduct gap analysis and impact analysis for system changes and transformation programs.

- Collaborate with technology teams to ensure business requirements are accurately implemented.
Stakeholder Management:
- Work with business users, product owners, technology teams, and external stakeholders across global locations.

- Facilitate workshops, requirement discussions, and solution design sessions.

- Ensure alignment between business objectives and technical implementation.
Agile Delivery & Project Implementation:
- Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog grooming, and retrospectives.

- Work closely with product owners and development teams to ensure timely delivery.

- Track requirements and project progress using JIRA, Confluence, or similar tools.
Data Analysis & SQL:
- Perform data analysis using SQL queries to support requirement validation and business insights.

- Work with large datasets related to risk exposure, regulatory reporting, and financial metrics.

- Collaborate with data teams to ensure data quality, consistency, and integrity.
Consulting & Practice Development:
- Contribute to solution design, thought leadership materials, and consulting proposals.

- Support pre-sales initiatives, RFP responses, and client presentations when required.

- Assist in building domain capabilities within the risk consulting practice.
Required Skills & Experience:
- 9-15 years of experience in Business Analysis within BFSI / Risk Management programs.

- Strong expertise in Financial Risk Management (Credit Risk, Market Risk, Liquidity Risk, Operational Risk).

- Proven experience in end-to-end project implementation and stakeholder management.

- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies and delivery frameworks.

- Strong experience with requirements analysis, documentation, and process modeling.

- Proficiency in SQL for data analysis and validation.

- Experience using tools such as JIRA, Confluence, or other requirement management platforms.

- Excellent communication, presentation, and stakeholder engagement skills.
Good to Have:
- Experience in Data Science, Analytics, AI/ML, or Generative AI applications in risk management.

- Knowledge of Data Management, Data Architecture, Data Governance frameworks, and modern data platforms.

- Understanding of DORA (Digital Operational Resilience Act), cyber risk management, or regulatory compliance initiatives.

- Exposure to consultative sales, pre-sales support, RFP responses, and proposal development.
Education:
- Bachelor's degree from a reputed institute.

Master's degree preferred in a quantitative discipline such as:

- Business Administration

- Data Science

- Statistics

- Computer Science

- Finance or related fields.
