1) Ability to independently handle the litigation under civil, criminal and commercial laws

• Ability to study the papers and advice on the merits/demerits of the case in hand and possible legal recourse for recovery of monies by WIL for any OR a good defense in case the legal proceedings are initiated against WIL. The thrust would be on Arbitration and NCLT (IBC) matters. Therefore knowledge of Arbitration matters and IBC matters is a MUST.
• As such even drafting pertaining to issuance of Legal Notices/ Replies including Arbitration/IBC notices, Plaints, Written Statements, Claims, Counter Claim, Complaints, etc. is essential. Mere dependency on external counsel shall not do.
• Good research ability on Case Laws and applicable laws for litigation matters is also essential.

2)

The candidate should be able to independently draft/vet(verify) various Commercial Contracts, Non-Disclosure Agreements, Bank Guarantees, PO’s, Agency Contracts, Supply/Service Contracts, agreements pertaining to real estate/property matters, etc. This is a non-negotiable requirement and he/she should require only guidance from the Legal Head.

3) Providing Legal Opinion –

Ability to study and draft legal opinion/advice to management or other department heads for matters pertaining to the Company’s business or various applicable statutes/Acts.

4) Compliance –

Oversee the legal compliance in co-ordination with the external agency – Teamlease Regtech - on an independent basis.

Co-ordinate with external advisors/consultants like Advocates / Counsels / Solicitors firms in respect of the legal matters of the Company in Mumbai/Delhi/other locations.
Handling of Labour matters in Pune/Walchandnagar/Satara in co-ordination with HR&IR Head at Company’s Plant/s and external Counsel.

6) MIS -Prepare and maintain Weekly/Monthly MIS and making briefs/synopsis of the cases and maintaining the case files, documents & records.

7) Marathi drafting skills would be an added advantage.

8) Any other matter as may be assigned by the Legal Head.
