Site Supervisor - Water And Waste Water Treatment

Role Description This is a full-time, hybrid role based in Salcete, with a combination of on-site work at water and wastewater treatment facilities and some work-from-home flexibility for planning, reporting, and coordination tasks. The Site Supervisor will oversee day-to-day plant operations, including monitoring treatment processes, supervising plant operators and technicians, and ensuring adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards. Responsibilities include planning and assigning daily work, guiding preventive and corrective maintenance, coordinating with vendors and contractors, and maintaining accurate logs of plant performance, downtime, and chemical consumption. The role involves inspecting equipment, troubleshooting operational issues, supporting the commissioning of new installations or upgrades, and ensuring compliance with local regulations and company procedures. The Site Supervisor will also interact with clients and internal teams, provide regular status updates, and help train and mentor on-site personnel to maintain consistent, efficient plant performance.

• Strong supervisory skills with experience leading on-site teams, assigning tasks, and monitoring performance.
• Effective communication skills for coordinating with clients, contractors, and internal stakeholders, and preparing clear reports.
• Experience in social work or community engagement is beneficial for liaising with local communities affected by water and wastewater projects.

Case management skills and familiarity with mental health or worker well-being support are advantageous for managing team concerns and maintaining a safe, supportive work environment.

Diploma or degree in Environmental Engineering, Civil Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or a related technical field (or equivalent practical experience in water/wastewater treatment).

• Hands-on experience with operation and maintenance of water and wastewater treatment plants, including pumps, valves, filters, and instrumentation.
• Knowledge of safety practices, environmental regulations, and standard operating procedures relevant to treatment facilities.
• Ability to read basic engineering drawings, interpret process parameters, and use standard office and reporting tools.
• Willingness to work on-site in Salcete, manage shifts or emergency situations when needed, and travel to nearby project locations if required.
