Data Governance (Alation Developer)

Role: Alation data governance developer

As an Alation Data Governance Developer, you will be responsible for the development, implementation, and maintenance of data governance solutions using the Alation platform. You will work with stakeholders to design, develop, and deploy data governance solutions that ensure the accuracy, consistency, and reliability of data across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and implement data governance solutions using the Alation platform
• Collaborate with stakeholders to define data governance policies, standards, and procedures
• Work with data stewards to identify critical data elements and define data lineage

• Design and develop data quality checks, data profiling, and data validation rules
• Develop custom workflows and integrations with other systems to automate data governance processes
• Develop and maintain documentation related to data governance solutions
• Participate in the testing and deployment of data governance solutions
• Provide technical support and training to end-users

Qualifications:

• At least 3 years of experience developing data governance solutions with Alation and other platforms

  Strong understanding of data governance concepts, principles, and best practices
• Experience with data modeling, data profiling, and data quality management
• Strong programming skills in Python, SQL, and Java
• Experience with REST APIs, JSON, and web services
• Experience with version control systems such as Git
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment
