Job Summary

Risk Technology team is made up of a cross-functional team of software development specialists, geospatial information specialists and catastrophe / financial model specialists who bring best-in-class analytics, thought leadership and expertise in designing, building and supporting industry standard risk analysis tools. A talented Business Intelligence Analyst is required to join the function at Willis Towers Watson. The successful candidate will play an active role in within the Risk Technology functionCentre of Expertise providing BI & Analytics advisory, support and delivery capabilities to the wider Willis Towers Watson Group. Working alongside GIS, developers and Data Science specialists, this corporate capability will support Willis Towers Watson sales teams and analysts develop analytics solutions and insights for their respective business units.

Experience / Requirements

Essential:

• Degree educated in an analytical subject. A bachelor's degree in computer science / business / information system / IT / statistics or similar. Masters level or above would be an advantage.


• Experience of understanding complex business processes, involving multiple stakeholder groups and perspectives


• 5+ years of experience implementing enterprise data solutions with Microsoft BI stack (SSIS, SSAS, SSRS, Power BI) and data analytics proficiency.


• Experience developing and supporting Microsoft BI and reporting capabilities (Power BI, PowerPivot, PowerView, SQL Server Reporting Services.)


• Strong competence working with SQL Server databases as a data source. Other databases advantageous

  Get Hired
  Ability to develop bespoke User Interfaces or custom algorithms using languages such as Javascript, Python or R.


• Demonstrable knowledge and experience within SSAS Tabular Model, DAX functions, multi-dimensional MDX queries.


• Working knowledge of Azure Data factory and Azure DW is preferred but not mandatory.


• Working knowledge of C# assemblies and VSTA is preferred but not mandatory.

Desirable:

• Experience of working in a financial services organisation, preferably with exposure to the insurance industry/insurance broking. Where this directly relevant experience is not available, we will be looking for an ability to rapidly become effective in a new, unfamiliar environment

Principal Duties/Responsibilities

• Designing and implementing business intelligence technical solutions.


• Data modelling and data architecture design and implementation.


• Analysis of requirements and production of specifications and reports.


• Documentation of solution (e.g. data models, configurations, and setup etc.).


• Working within agile delivery model (Scrum/Kanban),


• Engaging with the customers to identify POC’s and new insights to bring value to the business


• Conduct or coordinate tests and quality assurance to ensure that analytics and intelligence are consistent with defined needs.


• Provide technical support for existing reports, dashboards, or other tools.


• Work with Service Management and application support functions to maintain or update shared artefacts.


• Disseminate information regarding tools, reports, or metadata enhancements via community forums, training and stakeholder groups.


• Regularly audit of user access to Risk Technology’s BI applications and Platforms including Power BI workspaces and Active Directory groups.
