Position Overview

Technical Lead, AWS & AI-First Engineering (Horizontal) – Provider Payments

Location: Hyderabad, India

Experience: 8-12 years

Role type: Horizontal technical leader across Provider Engineering Pods (influence-based; direct reports not required)

About the Role

Provider Payments platforms process high-volume, high-stakes financial transactions for healthcare. We are looking for a hands-on technical leader who raises the engineering bar across multiple Provider Engineering Pods rather than within a single team. You will set standards, shape architecture, mentor engineers, ensure trusted payment data flows into the analytics layer, and make AI-assisted engineering a repeatable, measurable way of working across pods.

What You Will Do

Lead across pods

• Act as the horizontal technical authority across Provider Engineering Pods, setting engineering standards and reference patterns that teams actually adopt.
• Influence architecture decisions and roadmaps through credibility, clear communication, and hands-on contribution rather than reporting lines.
• Mentor and coach engineers and tech leads, and build a culture of technical ownership and continuous improvement.
• Partner with Product, Architecture, Security, Operations, and Engineering to turn business outcomes into sound technical direction.

Architect and build on AWS

• Lead AWS architecture, application modernization, and cloud-native engineering for Provider Payments platforms.
• Design and build solutions using EC2, ECS/EKS, Lambda, API Gateway, S3, RDS, DynamoDB, SQS/SNS, EventBridge, CloudWatch, IAM, and VPC.
• Drive microservices, event-driven architecture, Domain-Driven Design, and API-first design.
• Modernize legacy applications into scalable, resilient AWS-based architectures.
• Build highly available platforms for high-volume transactional and payment workloads, with strong security, authentication, authorization, observability, and operational readiness.

Engineer hands-on

• Contribute directly in .NET Core / .NET 6+, C#, and ASP.NET Core, building REST APIs and distributed systems.
• Work across SQL Server and NoSQL stores, messaging, and asynchronous processing.
• Apply Docker, Kubernetes, Terraform/CloudFormation, and CI/CD as everyday tools.

Enable payment data and analytics on Snowflake

• Design reliable data flows from transactional and event-driven systems on AWS into Snowflake for payment analytics, reporting, and reconciliation.
• Guide data modeling, ingestion patterns, and data quality so payment data is accurate, auditable, and secure (PHI/PCI-aware).
• Keep Snowflake performance and cost under control, and set shared patterns that pods reuse.

Make AI-first engineering real

• Promote and operationalize AI/GenAI-assisted engineering across coding and code reviews, test generation, documentation, troubleshooting and incident analysis, observability and operations, and developer productivity.
• Build reusable AI agents, skills, and engineering automation that multiple pods can share.
• Define and track metrics (for example cycle time, review turnaround, test coverage, incident resolution time) so AI adoption delivers measurable productivity gains, not just tool familiarity.

What You Bring

Must-have

• 8-12 years of software engineering experience, with deep hands-on AWS expertise.
• Strong modern .NET (.NET 6+ / ASP.NET Core / C#) engineering skills.
• Proven experience with microservices, event-driven architecture, and distributed systems at scale.
• Hands-on Snowflake experience: data modeling, ingestion from AWS sources, and performance and cost awareness.
• Demonstrated hands-on technical leadership: setting standards, mentoring, and influencing architecture without formal authority.
• Demonstrated AI-assisted engineering adoption that went beyond personal use of Copilot or ChatGPT and delivered repeatable, measurable team-level improvement.
• Strong stakeholder management and cross-team collaboration skills.

Strongly preferred

• Domain exposure to Provider Payments, Claims, Payment Integrity, Revenue Cycle Management, or healthcare financial platforms.
• Track record of large-scale cloud modernization.
• AWS certification (Solutions Architect Professional/Associate, DevOps Engineer, or equivalent).
