Ashland has an exciting opportunity for an Warehouse operator to join our
Ambernath India Plant Mumbai team. The position will report to the Warehouse Supervisor.
This is a Onsite full-time position.
The responsibilities of the position include, but are not limited to, the following:
- Receive raw materials, packaging materials, consumables, and finished goods as per approved procedures.
- Verify material quantity, batch numbers, labels, and physical condition during receipt.
- Ensure proper storage and segregation of materials based on their status (Quarantine, Approved, Rejected).
- Affix and maintain material status labels and identification tags.
- Carry out material transfer activities between warehouse, dispensing, and production areas.
- Operate pallet trucks, stackers, hand trolleys, and forklifts (if certified).
- Ensure safe handling of materials to prevent damage and contamination.
- Follow FIFO/FEFO principles during material issuance and storage.
- Perform dispensing of raw materials as per approved dispensing requests and SOPs.
- Verify material code, batch number, quantity, and status before dispensing.
- Ensure proper documentation and reconciliation of dispensed materials.
- Maintain cleanliness and GMP standards in dispensing areas.
- Maintain accurate warehouse records and logs.
- Complete all GMP documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Report inventory discrepancies to supervisors.
- Participate in cycle counting and stock verification activities.
- Assist in physical inventory checks and reconciliation.
- Monitor stock conditions and report damaged or expired materials.
- Prepare materials and finished goods for dispatch.
- Support loading and unloading of vehicles.
- Verify dispatch quantities and documentation before shipment.
- Ensure compliance with transportation and handling requirements.
- Follow GMP, GDP, Data Integrity, and SOP requirements.
- Maintain warehouse housekeeping and 5S standards.
- Ensure proper handling of approved, quarantined, rejected, and returned materials.
- Follow all EHS procedures and wear appropriate PPE.
- Report unsafe conditions, near misses, and incidents immediately.
- Participate in safety trainings and toolbox talks.
- Maintain a safe and clean working environment.
In order to be qualified for this role, you must possess the following:
- 2-3 years of warehouse/stores experience in Pharmaceutical, Excipient, Chemical, Food, or FMCG manufacturing industries.
- Experience working in a GMP-regulated environment preferred.
The following skill sets are preferred by the business unit:
- HSC / ITI / Graduate in any discipline.
- Certification in forklift operation will be an added advantage.
