Job Description
- As a Core Tax Services Manager at BDO USA, you will be responsible for advising on the tax implications of clients' business objectives and selecting actions to reduce tax burden and compliance costs. You will also be the primary contact for complex tax issues, identifying compliance methods and potential risks.
Your key responsibilities will include:
- Providing written tax advice to clients
- Reviewing federal and state estimated tax payments
- Demonstrating thorough knowledge of insurance clients and reviewing 1120 and 1120 PC returns
- Managing tax accounting in the general ledger
- Identifying tax savings and exposures and effectively communicating findings
- Developing and maintaining tax accounting policies and procedures
- Assisting with engagement workflow management
- Supervising tax consultants and interns
- Prior supervisory experience required
Qualifications for this role include:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or a relevant field
- Master's degree in Accounting (beneficial)
- Master's degree in Taxation
- 7+ years of experience in corporations, focusing on insurance clients
- Experience with Microsoft Office Tools, Adobe Acrobat, and tax research databases
- Proficiency in tax compliance software
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to delegate work effectively
- Analytical, research, critical thinking, and decision-making skills
- Team player with the capacity to manage a team of tax professionals
- Ability to compose written tax advice
- Strong relationship-building skills
- Executive presence for presenting and resolving tax issues effectively
