What role will you play in the team?

As a US Tax Senior Associate at BDO, you'll lead engagements involving US tax compliance and advisory services, guiding a team to deliver exceptional client service. Your role includes overseeing the preparation and review of complex tax returns and consulting on tax planning strategies.

What you will do

You will manage the entire US tax process for clients, from data gathering to final review, ensuring accuracy and compliance with regulations. This includes complex tax research, client communications, and the implementation of effective tax strategies.

Key responsibility

• Manage and oversee the preparation and review of US federal and state tax returns for a variety of clients.
• Lead client engagements, serving as the main point of contact for complex tax issues.
• Conduct in-depth research on US tax laws and regulations, providing technical guidance to team members.
• Develop and implement tax planning strategies to minimize tax liabilities for clients.
• Mentor and train junior tax staff, providing guidance on technical and professional development.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for business development within the US tax practice.

• Oversee tax audits and other tax controversy matters, representing clients before tax authorities.

Required Qualification and Skills

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field; Master's degree preferred.
• 2-4 years of experience in US taxation, with a focus on compliance and planning.
• Strong technical knowledge of US federal and state tax laws and regulations.
• Proficiency in tax preparation software such as GoSystem Tax RS or ProSystem fx Tax.
• Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and research skills.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to lead and influence.
• Strong project management skills and the ability to manage multiple engagements simultaneously.
• CPA certification or actively pursuing certification.
