Head - Procurement - Pharma Manufacturing Firm

About the role:
We are looking for a Head - Procurement to lead procurement across its pharmaceutical manufacturing plants.
The role will be responsible for developing a strong, transparent and efficient procurement function that supports the organisation's manufacturing operations, cost objectives and growth plans.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the procurement function across all pharmaceutical manufacturing plants.
- Manage procurement of APIs, raw materials, packaging materials, engineering items, consumables and other plant requirements.
- Develop and implement the overall procurement strategy in line with business requirements.
- Drive strategic sourcing, vendor development and supplier management.
- Identify opportunities for cost optimisation without compromising quality or supply continuity.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers.
- Establish robust procurement processes, controls and approval mechanisms across plants.
- Ensure timely availability of materials to support uninterrupted manufacturing operations.
- Evaluate and develop vendors based on quality, cost, reliability and compliance.
- Standardise procurement practices across manufacturing locations.
- Work closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, Engineering and Supply Chain teams.
- Monitor procurement budgets, pricing trends and supplier performance.
- Develop and mentor procurement teams across locations.
Candidate Profile:
- 20+ years of experience in procurement, preferably in pharmaceutical manufacturing.
- Should have handled procurement of APIs, pharma raw materials, packaging materials, engineering items, plant consumables and other manufacturing requirements.
- Strong experience managing procurement across multiple manufacturing plants.
- Strong understanding of pharmaceutical manufacturing and supply chains.
- Experience in strategic sourcing, vendor development, negotiations and cost management.
