About the Job:
- We are seeking a highly strategic and experienced Business Development Manager to drive significant growth in our Individual Agency Channel (Motor/Health & Life) across the Varanasi territory.
- This leadership role demands a visionary professional capable of identifying new market opportunities, establishing robust partnerships, and formulating long-term strategies to expand our footprint and maximize profitability.
- Reporting To: Area Sales Manager/Cluster Manager
Objective:
To strategically identify, develop, and expand the Individual Agency Channel (Motor/Health & Life) in the assigned territory, establish key partnerships, and implement innovative strategies to achieve substantial business growth and market penetration.
Responsibilities/KPI's:
Agency Channel Development:
- Strategic Sourcing: Develop and execute advanced strategies for sourcing and onboarding high-potential POS Agents, ensuring optimal mix and adherence to long-term business objectives.
- Market Expansion: Lead the comprehensive expansion of the Agency Channel across the assigned location, identifying and penetrating new geographic and demographic market segments.
- Process Optimization: Drive the optimization of pre-licensing, training, and licensing processes in collaboration with the Operations team for enhanced efficiency and agent onboarding experience.
- Training & Development Leadership: Design and oversee comprehensive induction and ongoing training programs for POS agents, collaborating closely with the sales training team to ensure high product knowledge and selling skills.
- Channel Portfolio Management: Proactively manage and optimize the overall portfolio of new and existing agents/POS to maximize business output and ensure channel health.
- Strategic Market Penetration: Develop and implement innovative strategies to reach out to various untapped market segments, fostering significant market share growth.
Agency Channel Management:
- Performance Analytics & Strategy: Implement sophisticated performance monitoring systems for Agents, conducting in-depth analysis of Renewal/Fresh database, funnel, and closures to formulate strategic interventions for continuous improvement.
- Active Channel Management: Establish and maintain exceptionally high active percentages of POS, implementing proactive measures to ensure sustained engagement and productivity.
- Attrition Mitigation: Develop and execute advanced strategies and initiatives to significantly control and minimize Attrition of POS Agents.

- Productivity & Engagement Maximization: Drive overall productivity of the team and POS through strategic initiatives and ensure an exceptionally high level of channel engagement, fostering strong loyalty and commitment.
Channel Servicing:
- Strategic Account Management: Oversee and streamline the reconciliation of partner accounts, establishing robust coordination mechanisms with all departments to ensure seamless and efficient service delivery.
Profitability:
- Market Intelligence & Strategy: Conduct in-depth analysis of various market dynamics, competitive landscapes, and regulatory changes, providing critical feedback and strategic recommendations for organizational improvement and competitive advantage.
- Loss Ratio Optimization: Take ownership of managing and optimizing loss ratios, implementing strategies to enhance channel profitability.
Compliance & Hygiene:
- Regulatory Adherence: Ensure strict adherence to all external regulatory bodies and other authorities, proactively managing compliance risks.
- Internal Governance: Establish and enforce robust internal compliance protocols and hygiene standards across all channel operations.
- Financial & Business Hygiene: Drive efficient cheque bounce recovery and proactive management of business pendency, ensuring financial and operational hygiene.
- Lead other responsibilities as per strategic KPI and growth factors, contributing significantly to the overall business strategy and growth.
