Job Description

Primary Details
Time Type: Full time
Worker Type: Employee
To assist and support the Branch Manager with all administrative services of the Branch, accounting and reporting activities for the branch to Head Office and ensure all financial accounting and administrative activities are performed properly and comply with local regulation.
Primary Responsibilities
  • Strategy and Planning
  • Contribute to the development of team’s business plan in order to maximize productivity and performance.
  • Participate in some internal meetings, as required, in order to share and develop strategy, knowledge and best practice.
  • Policy, Process and Procedures
  • Oversee the implementation and maintenance of appropriate management accounting and reporting systems, audit requirement and expenditure procedures
  • Ensure training and knowledge is up to date. This includes but is not limited to mainframe applications and general insurance accounting.
  • Contribute to the refinement of processes and procedures to improve accounting systems and administrative procedures.
  • Environmental Awareness/Customer Focus
  • Provide advice, guidance and information on financial matters to support decision making for the Branch Manager.
  • Address all enquiries from customers professionally and accurately.
  • Develop relationships in line with the business plan to support the achievement of its objectives.
  • Technical Performance
  • Contribute to the preparation and maintenance of accurate accounting records in accordance with internal procedures and statutory requirements to ensure compliance with legal, regulatory, codes of conduct and best practice guidelines.
  • Assist in administrative activities within the Branch.
  • Contribute to the reports and administrative affairs ensuring accurate reporting and Management Information in line with respective timescales.
  • People Management
  • Provide coaching and mentoring to less experienced colleagues to increase capability and to shares knowledge and best practice.
  • Facilitating the team achievement of KPIs and preparation and implementation of Performance Management Process with team to ensure expectations are understood and met.
Preferred Competencies/Skills
  • Effective time management skills with the ability to manage priorities to meet strict deadlines.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Teamwork – able to collaborate and work flexibly with others.
  • Ability to work independently and autonomously with minimal or moderate supervision.
  • Problem solving skills.
Preferred Experience
  • 7+ years accounting experience within a complex financial services organization.
Preferred Knowledge
  • Good knowledge of relevant current statutory, legal and regulatory accounting requirements.
  • Thorough understanding of best practice accounting
  • Good knowledge of relevant Labor Code.
