Shift In-Charge MRO

Department: Production and Maintenance

Location : Bengaluru

Role Overview

The Shift In-Charge is responsible for leading and managing all maintenance operations during assigned shifts within the MRO facility. This role requires extensive experience in heavy aircraft maintenance, prior certifying authority, and proven supervisory capability. The Shift In-Charge ensures that aircraft maintenance activities are completed safely, efficiently, and in compliance with regulatory requirements, while coordinating manpower, resources, and workflows across teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage all maintenance activities during the assigned shift, ensuring timely execution of tasks.
  • Supervise and coordinate teams of technicians, mechanics, and certifying staff across multiple work packages.
  • Ensure compliance with OEM manuals, regulatory standards, and organizational procedures.
  • Monitor shift progress, resolve technical issues, and provide guidance to certifying staff.
  • Allocate manpower and resources effectively to meet maintenance schedules.
  • Verify and sign off maintenance documentation where required, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Report shift progress, issues, and resource utilization to the Production Manager.
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety, quality, and environmental standards within the MRO.
  • Support audits, inspections, and continuous improvement initiatives.

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree or Diploma in Aeronautical / Mechanical / Electrical / Avionics Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Minimum 12 years of experience in an MRO environment working on heavy aircraft.
  • At least 5 years of certifying aircraft experience.
  • Minimum 3 years in a supervisory role, managing teams in a maintenance environment.
  • Strong knowledge of heavy aircraft systems, maintenance practices, and regulatory compliance.
  • Prior C130J experience would be an advantage

  • Effective communication skills for coordination with staff, engineers, and management.
  • Ability to make quick, safe, and compliant decisions under pressure.
